Indeed it is. We live in a time when living the American Dream can sometimes mean rising from poverty and privation to provide cover for torture, human rights violations, and, in general, the corruption of the Bush Regime.

I sometimes wonder which is worse- that the Federal Government is in the hands of fundamentalist Christians, torture apologists, and warmongers, or that this same rogue's gallery, on at least some level, has the consent of the governed. I don't agree with them, but I certainly understand why so many liberal-minded Americans are contemplating leaving the country. A country that tolerates Bush and everything he represents is not one in which I wish to live.
